PIRATES.....RRRRRRR!

Okay so we wanted baseball but there just wasn't a bedding set that said, "YES, THAT'S THE ONE!" So today was the break through. We searched and searched and told each other if we couldn't find a baseball or sport one we liked (mind you we looked at 10 or more sets) then we would be open to another theme. Well.....we found one we both fell in love with. In fact, Dave was set when he saw it! It's kooky and fun and the colors pop with reds, blacks, teals, and lime greens!!!! We are so excited to decorate a pirate's room!!! We are planning on a treasure map on the wall and a boat and maybe a treasure chest! We have black furniture which will even make it pop more. Our kids going to have a GREAT imagination and definately an eye catching room. :) We still plan to dress Parker in as many baseball outfits as possible!!!!! :) Room Picture is posted below! Enjoy....

WELCOME PARKER EASTON THOMAS!

IT'S A BOY! A future baseball player is in the making! Can you imagine it now, "Now Batting, Parker Thomas!" Yup, sounds like an MVP to me! We are so excited. Were we shocked? ABSOLUTELY! We did all these tests that said girl. Parker must have been laughing in the womb. :) The doctor was glad to see I gained some weight this time around!! He also said that Parker is 8 oz right now and is right on track. Parker was breeched today and kicking me from the moment I woke up this morning. It made it difficult for the sonogram lady to get a good picture of his face. The due date is staying on track...August 11th! We went to register today at babies r us and target. We're thinking a sports room with a BIG emphasis on baseball. :) We are so excited to get things rolling! We'd love to hear from you. You can email us at: katie_thomas@verizon.net

Gender Myths: Fact or Foe?

Moving on from the Drano Pee Test, my friends at work decided they wanted to try some of the gender myths you read and hear about. They wanted to compare it to my drano pee test result to see if it was the same. So during our next "Specials" meeting, they told me so lie down on the table. Our music teacher at McLaughlin stood on a chair with a long piece of string with a pencil to see if it swirled in a circle (girl) or moved back and forth (boy). Feeling awkward, everyone watched the pencil go back and forth and then suddenly start to circle. Camera's started flashing (b/c they know I scrapbook) and everyone was ooooOOOooing and AWwwwwing. Then some one mentioned that they thought you had to have a piece of metal. So we then switched the pencil for a ring on the string and did the whole process again. Again, camera's flashing, it started back and forth, then started to circle. We all laughed at how funny it was! What a fun "meeting!" Then I got an email from a friend who asked if I had done the Chinese gender calendar. You put in some information and it's a scientific study to see if it's a boy or girl. It has been researched and known to be 75% correct. With my info, it showed a girl. I am prepared for either boy or girl and wouldn't mind either or. I am counting down with just ONE MORE WEEK to see the results! We'll keep you posted. I can't wait to start the room!! :)

DRANO PEE TEST

Yes that's right. I did the good ole Drano pee test. My friend Corrie's mom was a nurse and she swore by it. It worked for my friend and her sister of 4 children so I thought I'd give it a whirl. First I went to wal-mart, who I thought had EVERYTHING. They didn't have it. They had the gel kind but it had to be the Drano Crystals. So I called my friend who said they for sure had it at home depot, so off I went to Home Depot. I go to the cleaning Aisle and they had a few products but not what I was looking for. This guy then approached me and said, "May I help you?" I said, "Yes, I am looking for Drano with crystals!" He said he was going to walk me that way and show me. He then asked, "Septic problems huh?" I was like, OH BOY! So I proceed to explain him what I was doing. He was in shock and laughed and even walked me all the way to the register telling me stories of his 6 grandchildren. So yes, I went home pee'ed in a cup and poured the Drano Crystals in. Stirred it up and watched to see what color it turned. If it turned blue, it was a boy, and brown, it was a girl. I though there was NO way it would turn brown b/c the crystals are blue and when you add it to water it turns it blue. Guess what color it was????? BROWN! Which is what my inclination was. So we'll see in 3 weeks what the sono says, but I am curious to compare the Drano test with the sono! :)
