4 More Weeks and Counting

Today I had another appointment. I've been going through some sicknesses and it's not the morning sickness. I am pretty much over that. I had a severe cold about 2 weeks ago and it's left me with really bad sinuses and I've been having migraines to the point of not being able to hold food down. The doctor today prescribed some vicodin, which is suprising safe and has been one of the only things that has worked to knock these headaches away. The best part was when the Dr. looked at Dave with his finger up and he said, "And you sir need to be giving her neck massages every night!" I couldn't help but laugh on the inside and follow with a, "Yea, that's right!" I also have found that I have lost 11 pounds since my very first appointment. Who knew pregnancy would be a good diet! :) I also had another blood test which was to test for spinabifida and something nuero. We left with the next Dr appt scheduled for MARCH 25! Dave and I have already asked for a full day off of work and we're counting down the days. We are suppose to find out if it's a girl or boy so it should be an exciting day. I am also starting to feel flutters which will soon feel like a punch or kick! :) Some have asked for our email address: katie_thomas@verizon.net We'd love to hear from you!

13 Week Appointment

Today we had our 13 week appointment which was bitter sweet. I was crossing my fingers that there was a chance to find out if Baby Thomas was a girl or a boy. Well, Baby Thomas did not want to open it's legs today. The practitioner tried shaking my stomach to pounding on my stomach to get it to uncross it's legs. I am DEFINATELY learning patience since my next sonogram is not for 7 MORE WEEKS! But the sweetest thing of all was seeing Baby Thomas grow. Dave was watching in silence as he always does. :) I was oooohing and awwwwing at what we saw. I thought it would look like an alien and I was wrong. It totally looked like a baby. I kept seeing it bob up and down and I asked the practitioner what the baby was doing and she said, LOOK AT THIS! IT'S SUCKING IT'S THUMB! That was the best part! They did a test for down syndrome and everything was normal. In 3 weeks I will have a blood test for spinabifida and 4 weeks after that will be the next sonogram to see the gender. :) Thanks for sharing our journey. We'll keep you posted.
